Roberti Ranch Harnesses the Sun with Array Technologies’ DuraTrack HZ™ Tracking System
500 kW system helps meet hay and cattle ranch’s energy needs
Albuquerque, NM – 10/14/11 – A 500 kW system for Roberti Ranch in rural Loyalton, CA., went online today, helping to offset rising energy costs while reducing the ranch’s impact on the environment.
Located in Plumas Sierras County, the Roberti Ranch produces approximately 8,000 tons of hay and 400 heads of cattle annually. Array Technologies’ DuraTrack HZ™ tracking system was installed onsite to offset the high costs of running the massive 100-horsepower irrigation pumps required for day-to-day operations.
By choosing the DuraTrack HZ™ system, the Roberti family ensures that they will receive the maximum return on their investment, as the trackers generate up to 25% more energy than conventional fixed-rack installations. Array Technologies’ DuraTrack HZ™ minimizes materials with articulating drivelines that make for robust performance while keeping unnecessary steel costs down.
Financing for the project was secured partially through a California REAP loan guarantee, enabling the Roberti Ranch to meet the initial investment in exchange for substantial energy savings over the lifetime of the project. A live feed available online shows the output and performance of the system in real time.
