The Lawrenceville School Goes Green with a DuraTrack HZ System

6.1 MWs to provide 90% of campus energy needs

Albuquerque, NM – 5/6/12 – The Lawrenceville School now has the largest solar facility at a secondary school in New Jersey, thanks to a 6.1 MW DuraTrack HZ™ system that now provides 90% of the electricity needs of the entire campus.

Constructed by EPC J. Fletcher & Son and owned by KDC solar, The Lawrenceville School will purchase the energy produced at a levelized cost for the lifetime of the project, saving the institution money while reducing its carbon footprint. The system is expected to generate power equivalent to taking 1,217 cars off the road annually for the lifetime of the project.

Array Technologies’ DuraTrack HZ™ trackers were chosen for the site, thanks to their field tested reliability, ease of installation, and up to a 25% gain over fixed-rack applications to ensure the maximum return on investment for The Lawrenceville School.

Native wildflower seed was planted under the arrays to provide food for fifteen honey bee colonies onsite which will produce 525 pounds of honey annually. It is expected to host almost a million bees once the colonies are established.
