Final Shipment for 5.6 MWs Completed for Florida’s Lakeland Linder Regional Airport
System will offset 162,000 tons of CO2 over 25 years
ALBUQUERQUE, NM – July 30, 2012 – Array Technologies has completed the final shipment for a 5.5 MW system at the Lakeland Linder Regional Airport today, enabling the transportation hub to offset rising utility costs while reducing the facility’s carbon footprint. The site will be owned by SunEdison and the power generated will be sold to Lakeland Electric under a 25 year power-purchasing agreement.
Array Technologies’ DuraTrack HZ™ system was deployed for the project, as it generates up to 25% more energy than fixed-rack installations while maximizing land coverage to ensure the largest return on investment in the industry today. Plus, the articulating driveline design enables easy installation, as it conforms to irregular site boundaries and easily adapts to undulating terrain.
The site is being constructed in two phases, and will offset 162,000 tons of CO2 over its lifetime—the equivalent of taking 31,000 cars off the road for one year.
