Unlike “push-pull” linear actuator designs, DuraTrack™ HZ’s patent-pending rotating gear-drive system allows each tracker row to be offset from the next in any direction, allowing more design flexibility.
Additionally, this distinctive gear drive system does not transmit wind forces through the driveline, resulting in an uncomplicated, robust solution that requires less structural material and fewer parts. With external wind forces contained within each row the dynamic force necessary to rotate the modules is transmitted through the drive linkage, rather than all forces being concentrated on a central linkage. Another benefit: constructing large, separate foundations for each drive system is unnecessary.
Durability for Extreme Conditions
Designed to handle 50-year storms and almost any environmental conditions, these drives typically operate at a small fraction of their capacity. Yet they’re ready to stand up to extreme weather conditions when they occur.
Low Maintenance
Grease is used as the drive lubricant, so oil leakage will never be an issue. The only maintenance required is an annual inspection and greasing of three grease zerks per gear drive (tracker row) every two years.
