Array Technologies Completes a Combined 20 MWs in Jal, New Mexico
Three of five plants now online, producing a combined 30 MWs
Albuquerque, NM – 9/22/11 – Array Technologies has announced the completion of two DuraTrack HZ™ systems in Jal, NM, bringing the multi-phase project closer to reaching its full generating capacity of 55 MWs. Constructed and owned by SunEdison, the power generated will be sold at a fixed rate to Southwestern Public Service Co., a subsidiary of Xcel Energy, for the lifetime of the project.
Located in sunny southern New Mexico, Array Technologies’ DuraTrack HZ™ tracking system was chosen for the multi-plant solar initiative, due to its proven ability to generate the best return on investment for utility-scale projects. With up to a 25% net energy gain over typical fixed rack installations, coupled with a system designed for reliable, tough performance on any type of terrain, it is no surprise that the DuraTrack HZ™ system was chosen for the largest solar development in New Mexico to date.
The activation of these solar fields increase the renewable energy profile of the utility, saving money with a reliable, levelized cost per kWh while diversifying its energy portfolio to better serve its customers and protect the environment.
