Array Technologies Completes 2 MWs of Projects in Italy
DuraTrack™ HZ systems to provide power to residents in Lecce, Italy
Albuquerque, NM – 8/10/10 – Array Technologies has announced the completion of two solar installations totaling 2 MWs near Lecce, Italy. Located on the southern ‘heel’ of Italy’s distinctively-shaped boot, the DuraTrack™ HZ systems will provide clean, renewable energy to residents of this popular town known for its word-class beaches and ancient Roman ruins.
Array Technologies’ DuraTrack™ HZ tracking system was chosen for both sites, as it minimizes material cost with its unique articulating driveline design. Sporting fewer motors per MW than other trackers on the market, its design is built for reliable performance with little to no required maintenance. By generating 25% more energy than fixed-rack applications, the DuraTrack™ HZ system ensures the highest ratio of energy per sq. foot is produced, maximizing returns for stakeholders.
The Scalelle and Colasisa projects are several of a dozen PV installations near Lecce that combined will power 3,300 homes annually, equivalent to taking 2,000 cars off the road a year for the lifetime of the project.
