Array Technologies Announces Final Commissioning of 12 MW site near Presidio, TX
DuraTrack™ HZ system to offset 397,400 metric tons of CO2 over its lifetime
Albuquerque, NM – 4/18/13 – Array Technologies has announced that a 12 MWdc DuraTrack™ HZ tracking system is now online at Bryan Solar Park near Presidio, TX. Located within three miles of the U.S.-Mexico border, the energy generated onsite will be sold to Bryan Texas Utilities under a 25-year power-purchasing agreement.
With over two decades of field experience and more than 1 GW of DuraTrack™ HZ systems shipped, Array Technologies was chosen for this project due to its record of manufacturing tracking and racking systems that are reliable, durable, and deliver robust performance even in harsh environments. The DuraTrack™ HZ system is able to operate in extreme heat or cold, and is rated for a temperature range of -45°F to 130°F.
The dry slide bearings used in the innovative articulating driveline design of the DuraTrack™ HZ system are unaffected by the desert conditions near Presidio, having undergone sandblast and other stress tests that have rated them for 100 years of operation in the field.
Spread over 520 acres, the site will help Bryan Texas Utilities comply with Texas’s Renewable Portfolio Standard, which requires utilities to produce a combined renewable energy capacity of 5,880 MW by 2015 and 10,000 MW by 2025.
