Array Technologies Activates 1.5 MW DuraTrack HZ™ Tracking System in Northern New Mexico

Ranchers help make solar energy a reality for Amalia

Albuquerque, NM – 4/13/12 – A small town in northern New Mexico is now generating clean, solar energy with a 1.5 MW DuraTrack HZ™ system from Array Technologies. Constructed by EPC Standard Solar in partnership with Paradise Power and Amalia Construction Company, the site will be owned and operated by Washington Gas Energy Systems. Kit Carson Electric Company will buy the energy produced under a power-purchasing agreement.

Covering 14 acres at the foot of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, the DuraTrack HZ™ tracking system will provide up to a 25% net energy gain over typical fixed-rack installations, delivering the high-end performance that customers have come to expect from Array Technologies. With an innovative articulating driveline design, the DuraTrack HZ™ system delivers robust performance while maximizing the return on investment for the life of the project.

Born from efforts of ranchers from the Rio Costilla Cooperative Livestock Association almost 30 years ago to help the economy and profile of Amalia, NM., the 1.5 MW array is a culmination of their hard work in securing funding and support for the project.
