1 MW System Activated for The Wine Group

Ripon, CA. solar installation to reap $200,000 a year in savings

Albuquerque, NM – 12/5/09 – The Wine Group, the largest producer of domestic boxed wine in the country, has activated a 1 MW DuraTrack HZ™ system at their Ripon facility. Through solar initiatives, including another 1 MW site in Fresno, it has come to be known as the greenest winery in the world.

The DuraTrack HZ™ system meets 15% of the plant’s energy needs, and will save the company approximately $200,000 a year in electricity costs. The plant will generate about 2 million kilowatt hours per year, enough energy to power 190 homes annually.

The Wine Group selected Array Technologies’ DuraTrack HZ™ system because it provides up to 25% more energy output that fixed rack installations and is the best at maximizing the land area though its innovative and flexible design. Another key factor was the DuraTrack HZ™’s highly reliable engineering and little required maintenance that allow it to work efficiently without interrupting the day-to-day operations of the facility.

The system is wholly owned by the company, and was constructed by EPC American Capital Energy.
