1 MW System Activated at Water Diversion Project

DuraTrack HZ™ trackers ensure water, energy access for Santa Fe

Albuquerque, NM – 3/2/12 – Array Technologies has announced the activation of a 1 MW system in Santa Fe, built to provide power for the Buckman Direct Diversion project to access surface water from the San Juan-Chama project and Rio Grande. Constructed and owned by American Capital Energy, the electricity generated will be sold to PNM at a levelized cost for the lifetime of the project.

Array Technologies’ DuraTrack HZ™ tracking system will provide up to 25% more energy than fixed-rack installations to the substations that pump the water 11 miles uphill. Additional electricity generated will be used by area customers, and the peak power delivery profile of the DuraTrack HZ™ system will help stabilize utility loads when demands are at their highest.

Located on 8 acres of land, the DuraTrack HZ™ system will ensure that Santa Fe residents have access to a sustainable and reliable flow of water from the diversion project. The excess electricity generated will feed directly back into the grid and sold to customers at a reduced rate.
